Rattan Furniture Design Innovation The Environment-Friendly Products

Indonesian Rattan Furniture Design Award or IRFDA 2010 is a competition of rattan-based furniture design Indonesia's first national level held in Cirebon.

This design competition is expected to provide an opportunity at the birth of a new design ideas for the advancement of Indonesian rattan furniture industry growth. And the global community can be accepted according to taste and current market trends and tendencies that will be attractive designs in the future.

Events this competition besides giving awards for the designer also aims at providing opportunities for cooperation with private industries, so that the best work of the participants could be produced commercially and can be received by the market.

Requirement

• Design work must be recent work, his own original thoughts (Original), offers fresh new ideas and never published.
• Indonesian citizen, individual, group and firm, attach a copy: Identity (ID), biodata, and TDP for the company.

• Functions (Functional-Universal)
• Value Innovation (Innovation Value)
• Environmentally Friendly (Green orientation)
• Aesthetic Value & Market orientation (Esthetics & Marketable)

Provision

• The work comes with a written presentation of design concepts.
• The main materials are rattan, can be combined with other materials deperti wood, metal, glass, and other natural fibers. Category design competition: Sitting Furniture (chair, stool, couch)
• Participants can submit only one work, the design can be hand sketches or computer rendering. Submit perspective drawing, technical drawing front, side & discounts, information & explanations size detail, on paper A3 + Soft copy files in one CD.

The jury will assess the work of several aspects, among others;

• Trend & Style
• Construction
• Concept
• Aesthetic Value
• The potential sale of products in global markets.

Schedule

• Scheduling & shipping works May 2 until July 10, 2010. Selection I - July 15, 2010, Selection II - August 5, 2010.
• Making Prototype July 17 to August 1, 2010. For participants who passed the selection process will be contacted, and announced through the website of the Ministry of Industry and AMKRI.
• Awards Night for the winners will be held in Cirebon on the date. August 6, 2010.
